Love is a personal choice.

Love is the choice to see the good in a person or a situation, even when the person rejects us or when the circumstances are not in our favor.

Love is not a duty; I do not love you simply because you raised me. I have chosen to love and honor you because I recognize the time and effort you have invested in me.
